Frequently Asked Questions
The only stupid questions are the ones you don't ask
Why the name Blue Corona Interactive?
If you were a science whiz in college, chances are you "get it." For the rest of you, let's just say we provide some powerful insights into your business and leave it at that.
If you're supposed to be such Internet marketing rockstars, how come you don't come up on the first page when I Google search you?
Very perceptive of you to notice (most people don't). We just put up our website recently, so we haven't had much time to get ranked. If you search "marketing measurement md," one of our better performing search phrases, we have an "ok" rank, but we are striving to improve it. As mentioned in other places on our website, SEO is a long-term strategy. We are in the process of optimizing our website and you should see us on the first page of Google for all of our most valuable keyword terms in the near future. Once our site is finalized, you will also see a Paid Search campaign. That is set to go "Live" this fall. Until then, do as we say and not as we do. We have plenty of clients that rank number one organically.
What is the single biggest thing I should know about marketing?
If you don’t measure the results of your marketing strategies (calls, web inquiries, signups, leads, sales, etc.) you will waste money on strategies that don’t work and you won’t spend enough money on the ones that bring in all your business. Data + gut instinct always trumps gut instinct alone.
Think about it this way. Let’s say you spend $3000 per month on a radio spot that you believe gets you great business (after all, your revenues are up!). If you really knew the radio spot was working, why wouldn’t you spend double or triple that amount - increase the spend until you hit a point of diminishing returns? Right now, you won’t spend more because you’re actually not that sure. We’ll give you the data. We’ll show you that you’re really only getting one lead per month with that radio spot and you’d be better off putting that $3000 towards a more effective marketing strategy. Or we’ll show you that you’re getting thirty leads per month from that radio spot, and you might want to test spending more on that strategy.
Bottom line: Track every marketing strategy to improve your ROI.
What is the most important thing for me to know about search marketing?
If you are not listed multiple times on the first few pages of Google and the other major search engines, you are losing business. Every page of the major search engines is real estate. The more times you can get your business on each page, the larger the share of visitors you will receive.
In all but a few rare instances, a Paid Search campaign should precede any Search Engine Optimization (SEO) project.
How can Blue Corona Interactive help me get more leads from my existing marketing strategies?
With any strategy you give us to track (coupons, direct mail, print, radio, PPC, etc.), not only do we keep track of all the calls that were connected or went to voicemail, but we also keep track of all the missed leads—where the caller just hung up without leaving a voicemail. You might think that prospective clients whose calls don’t get answered usually leave a voicemail, but as we’ve seen from our clients’ data, 70% of people don’t leave a voicemail if their call isn’t answered. That’s a lot of leads you could be missing that we’ll make sure you don’t miss.
Can you guarantee me a #1 organic ranking on Google?
No, we can’t, and you should RUN from any SEO company that tells you they can. We are on the cutting edge of best SEO practices and we will ethically implement them on your website. There are no guarantees, but we have never had a client that could not get listed multiple times on the first two pages of the major search engines within a year. If we can't make that happen for you, we either won't take on your project or we will offer you a refund on our monthly fee.
